Koechlin, JoseBurba Hotel Network (BHN), host of the upcoming Hotel Opportunities Latin America (HOLA) 2016, is pleased to announce that the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to José Koechlin Von Stein. This prominent award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the hospitality industry over his or her lifetime through their actions, deeds, and great accomplishments.

As Chairman & CEO of Inkaterra and Inkaterra Association (ITA), Koechlin is a pioneer developer of eco-friendly tourism in Peru, while generating rural economic growth via research for conservation. Koechlin is Chairman of the Sociedad Hoteles del Peru, Board Member of the Asociación Peruana de Gastronomía (APEGA), E-Meritus Board Member of Conservation International (Washington DC); and sits in various Peruvian University Tourism Councils. He was Board Member of The Peruvian National Park Service (SERNAMP); was Chairman of the Association of Adventure Travel and Ecotourism, 1998-2002; of Peru’s National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR) 1995-1997; and of the Instituto Tecnológico Pesquero (1996). Koechlin’s other key areas of accomplishment include: Ecology – Sponsorship of major inventories of flora and fauna in the Amazon basin, resulting in the discovery by E. O. Wilson of more ant species at Cusco Amazónico / Reserva Amazónica than anywhere else in the world. Creation of the world’s largest Orchidarium, of native species in their natural habitat, at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. Sponsor of ecological publications on conservation in both the rainforest and the Andean cloud forest. Koechlin is also an accomplished producer and author of both films and publications.
